Hosting: This site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages). Cloudflare processes server logs (IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare acts as our processor under a data processing agreement; legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR).
Analytics: We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookie-free, sets no identifiers in your browser and does not track you across sites. We only look at aggregate page views per path. In addition, when you land on the site, start a round, finish it, share a result or come back the next day, your browser sends a counter (event type and game mode only, no identifier) to Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in learning whether the game works (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR).
Local storage: The game keeps its state in your browser's localStorage under the key hb:v1: a random player id, your results per puzzle, your endless-mode counters and the date of your last visit. This is strictly necessary to run the game (§ 25 (2) TDDDG). No cookies are set. You can delete it with the button below or in your browser settings.
Results and weekly board: When you finish a daily or past puzzle, your browser sends the puzzle number, your guess and your random player id to our server (a Cloudflare Pages Function). We store puzzle, score and week together with that id in Cloudflare D1 in order to show you how you compare to other players and to run a weekly top-50 under a generated name derived from the id (for example „Curious Otter #3f2a"). We cannot link the id to you. Cloudflare may process this data outside the EU under the EU standard contractual clauses in its data processing agreement. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing the ranking feature (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). Retention: as long as the game runs; you can delete your rows at any time with „Forget me" below.
Email reminder (optional): If you enter your email under „Remind me tomorrow", we store it in Cloudflare Workers KV together with the time of entry and the consent version. Purpose: one email about the next puzzle. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR). Withdraw at any time by emailing fourfifty.production@gmail.com or replying „delete" to any message from us; we then delete the entry. We do not share or sell the list.
Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for us: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen). Contact: fourfifty.production@gmail.com.
